This follows public concerns over the reactivation of the digital permit application process. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) reaffirmed its commitment to citizen-focused policing, stating that public feedback has been vital in refining the system to make it more accessible, secure, and user-friendly.

The extension allows for further improvements to both the physical and online application processes, with efforts underway to enhance verification, reduce delays, and eliminate inconveniences for applicants.

The NPF reminded citizens that the only authorized platform for permit applications and renewals is www.possap.gov.ng. Nigerians are also urged to report any unauthorized charges or extortion during applications or biometric capturing via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
