BENIN CITY — The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has congratulated Edo Queens FC on their 2–1 victory over Rivers Angels in their final Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Match Day 18 fixture at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele commended the players, coaching crew led by Moses Aduku, and the club’s management for ending the regular season on a high note and securing qualification for the NWFL Super 6 tournament scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He singled out Atume Doosuur for her outstanding performance throughout the season, highlighting her opening goal against Rivers Angels and her emergence as the league’s top scorer with 12 goals as a remarkable feat.
Enabulele also praised Esther Inyang, whose goal sealed the victory for the Benin-based side.
The Sports Commission boss noted that Edo Queens have consistently demonstrated resilience, discipline, and the fighting spirit associated with Edo athletes. He assured the team of the Commission’s continued support ahead of the Super 6.
“This victory is another proud moment for Edo State sports. I congratulate Edo Queens for their determination, consistency, and impressive performance throughout the regular season,” he said.
“Qualifying for the Super 6 reflects the hard work and commitment of the players, coaches, and management. I urge the team to remain focused and give their best to make Edo State proud in Port Harcourt.”
Enabulele expressed confidence in the team’s ability to compete for the NWFL title.Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, and Bayelsa Queens qualified for the Super 6 from Group A.
Edo Queens finished second with 36 points, while Rivers Angels placed third with 34 points. Bayelsa Queens topped the group with 37 points.
