Around 15 regular folks were killed Wednesday by thought jihadists in Burkina Faso, security and neighborhood sources told AFP, starting a mass migration of individuals dreading further gore.
A local official told AFP that “terrorists carried out an attack early this morning in Sorgha” in the eastern province of Gnagna, “which cost the lives of about 15 residents, including women.”
The assault was affirmed by an inhabitant and security sources.
An NGO count shows that a jihadist insurgency that swept in from Mali in 2015 has killed more than 10,000 civilians, troops, and police in Burkina, one of the poorest countries in the world.
