One Dead, Three Injured as Lexus SUV Crashes Along Lagos Coastal Road Near Eko Hotel.
LAGOS, Nigeria One person has been killed and three others seriously injured following a road crash involving a Lexus Jeep 350 along the Lagos Coastal Road inward Eko Hotel, Lagos.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Thursday, according to a report published by Vanguard on October 2, 2026. The vehicle involved was identified as a grey Lexus Jeep 350 with registration number LSD 554 KV.
Preliminary findings by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) indicated that the vehicle reportedly lost control, struck a roadside pole and overturned. The three injured occupants were subsequently rescued from the wreckage with assistance from passersby and taken to Duck Yard Hospital within the Military Zone for urgent medical treatment.
LASTMA personnel responding to the incident secured the affected section of the road, while security personnel from Victoria Island also provided support. The damaged vehicle was later removed from the carriageway to prevent further danger to motorists and help restore traffic flow along the route.
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare Oki, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads. He specifically warned against excessive speed, reckless driving and loss of vehicular control, stressing the potential consequences for motorists and other road users.
The incident also highlights the importance of prompt emergency response and responsible driving, particularly along busy Lagos corridors where road crashes can quickly create additional risks for motorists and pedestrians.
