OPAY DON GIVE X USER DEADLINE TO COMOT FAKE NEWS WEY DEM POST, SAY E DEY SPOIL THEIR NAME.
OPay Digital Services Limited don send strong warning to one X user, Cute Hafserh, wey dey use the account @haifah_er_abba, after one post wey the company say na “false, wicked, libellous and defamatory” message.
For letter wey OPay date August 31, 2026, the company Chief Legal Counsel, Akinfolabi Moses Rokosu, say dem receive information about one post wey the X user allegedly make on August 30.
According to OPay, the post allegedly tell people say OPay wan go for one long and indefinite break, and e even advise customers make dem remove their money from their OPay accounts.
But OPay don reject the information completely.
The digital financial company say the message no get correct fact, and e fit mislead customers and cause unnecessary fear among people wey dey use the platform for money transfer, payment and other financial transactions.
OPay say the publication don affect the company name and business, and dem believe say the person wey publish am don infringe on their rights.
Because of this, OPay don demand make the X user delete the post permanently and stop to share or spread the same information for X or any other social media platform.
The company also demand make the user publicly withdraw the claim and give OPay one clear and unconditional apology.
OPay give the user deadline of 11:59 p.m. WAT on August 31, 2026, to carry out the demands.
The company warn say if the user no comply before the deadline, OPay fit take the matter go court and use every legal step wey dem get to protect their name, business and customers.
For now, the matter na between OPay and the X user, while OPay don make its position clear say the claim about the company going on an indefinite break no be true.
