OPERATION CLEAN EGOR GAINS MOMENTUM AS OKHORO ROAD DRAINS GET DESILTED.
USELU… The Operation Clean Egor (OCE) initiative of the Rt. Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo JP-led Egor Local Government Council has continued to gather momentum as sanitation officials moved to Okhoro Road to desilt and clear blocked drainage channels.
The exercise is part of the council’s sustained drive to keep major roads and communities within Egor clean, improve drainage flow and promote a healthier environment for residents.
Residents and road users who witnessed the exercise expressed their appreciation to the Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo JP, and the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, commending the administrations for the visible sanitation and infrastructural interventions across the state.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director of Sanitation Services, Egor Local Government Council, Sanitarian Helen. O. Okunrobo, explained that the desilting of Okhoro Road drains was part of the broader sanitation programme being implemented under the leadership of the Executive Chairman.
She disclosed that the sanitation drive has already covered several major roads within Egor, including Uwasota Road, Textile Mill Road, Good Samaritan Road and Etinosa Primary School Road, with other locations also benefiting from the ongoing exercise.
Sanitarian Okunrobo emphasized that sanitation remains a major priority of the Osaro Osa Eribo administration, stressing that Operation Clean Egor is designed as a continuous effort rather than a one-off exercise.
The council also appealed to residents and road users to complement the government’s efforts by keeping drainage channels clear, properly disposing of waste and refraining from indiscriminate dumping.
With Operation Clean Egor, the council says the objective remains clear: a cleaner, healthier and better maintained Egor Local Government Area.
