Pastor Rosco, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, Oyenekan Oluwaseyi and three others of Christ Freedom Evangelism Church were arrested with a human skull in Saje area of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
PUNCH Metro gathered on Sunday that Oluwaseyi and three others, Ibrahim Agbowewe, 30, Suleiman Ogunbunmi, 40 and Gafari Akinsanya, 57, were arrested in the early hours of the morning by men of the state police command. from Saturday.
A team source told our correspondent that the suspects claimed they wanted to use the skull for rituals.
The source added that the arrest was made following a tip from the public about suspicious movements and activities of the suspects in the area.
Acting on intelligence, police officers reportedly raided the area and arrested the suspects. PUNCH Metro learned that other items such as a big gourd, a black Toyota Camry and a battering ram found with the suspects have been recovered and taken to the police station.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the arrest, told our correspondent that the four suspects confessed to the crime.
“We arrested all four of them. Since then, they have admitted to wanting to use the head for blessings and money rituals. Investigations are underway to uncover more details of the incident,” Odutola told PUNCH Metro on Sunday.
