The Nigeria Police Force has declared Lagos socialite and blogger, Dorcas Adeyinka, wanted for alleged cyber-stalking, abduction, and murder. The police have called on the public to assist in apprehending Adeyinka and handing her over to the nearest police station or the office of the IGP Monitoring Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Adeyinka, described as a married female Yoruba blogger from Ekiti State and Ibadan, is approximately 1.64m tall with an oval face, tribal marks, pointed nose, wide mouth, full and white dentition, and light-skinned with black eyes. She is known to reside in the United Kingdom and frequently visits various locations in Lagos State, such as Ikeja, Ogudu, and Fagba, as well as Otta and Sango in Ogun State.Police declare socialite wanted for murder, cyber-stalking

This development comes after two social media users, Tolulope Adeoye aka Abike Jagaban and Tolulope Odegbami aka Olowosibi, were summoned to appear before a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja. The summons was issued in response to a criminal complaint filed by Adeyinka’s lawyers, alleging that the defendants had defamed her by sharing her nude photo online and ridiculing her.

In the court summons, Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna ordered the defendants to appear before the court on June 4, 2024, to answer the charges leveled against them by Adeyinka. The complainant’s lawyers argued that the actions of the defendants constituted criminal defamation and contravened Section 391 of the Penal Code.

Magistrate Iyanna also ordered that the complainant serve the defendants with the criminal summons and all subsequent court processes via their social media handles or pages. The matter has been adjourned until June 4, 2024, and the defendants have been instructed to be present in court on that date.

The case of Dorcas Adeyinka, the wanted socialite and blogger, has attracted significant attention due to the nature of the allegations against her. The police’s declaration of her as a wanted person and the ongoing court proceedings against individuals accused of defaming her highlight the importance of responsible online behavior and the legal consequences that can arise from cyber-stalking and defamation.

It is essential for individuals to be aware of the potential repercussions of their actions on social media and to exercise caution when sharing or disseminating sensitive information. The case serves as a reminder that online conduct can have real-life consequences and that the law will hold individuals accountable for their actions in the virtual world.
