The Italian State Police have ordered the temporary closure of Casablanca Bar, located on Via Palestrina at the corner of Via ChĆ¢tillon in Turin, following a series of serious security and administrative violations linked to criminal activity.
Officers from the Barriera di Milano police precinct suspended the barās operating license and imposed a 15-day closure, effective from February 5, 2026. The decision came after months of investigations and repeated inspections carried out between September 2025 and the end of January 2026.
The checks were conducted jointly with the Carabinieri, Local Police, and the Fire Brigade. Authorities reported that the premises were regularly frequented by individuals with extensive police records, including offenses related to crimes against persons and property, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, and exploitation of prostitution.
During an inspection at the end of October, police officers found two individuals in possession of cocaine. In one case, the drug was hidden inside a shoe, while in another it was found ready for use on a tray inside the bar. Both individuals were reported to the authorities.
Further inspections carried out in late January revealed multiple administrative violations, leading to fines being issued against the establishment. These findings ultimately triggered the suspension of the barās license and its temporary closure to the public.
Law enforcement officials stated that the measure was taken to protect public safety and restore order in the area, stressing that such actions are necessary when commercial premises become meeting points for criminal activity.
The closure of Casablanca Bar represents another step in ongoing efforts by local authorities to curb crime and ensure safer neighborhoods in Turin.
