Kano witnessed unrest on Wednesday as youths gathered in Kurna Quarters to protest the reported killing of a teenager by police personnel.
Tension escalated following clashes between political thugs in the area, with police allegedly resorting to gunfire and teargas, resulting in the death of an innocent bystander.
The protesters blocked the Kano-Katsina-Daura Highway for hours, causing disruption. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahai Haruna, confirmed the incident, stating that the officer responsible for the shooting has been arrested.
