RCCG Don Give $265,854 Make Dem Evacuate 500 Nigerians Wey Dey Suffer for South Africa.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) don give $265,854 to help bring back 500 Nigerians wey dey go through serious hardship for South Africa, after fresh cases of xenophobic and Afrophobic attacks for the country.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs don confirm say the money go help pay for 500 one way flight tickets for Nigerians wey wan comot South Africa and return back Nigeria.

The ministry spokesperson, Oluwafemi Adeniyi, talk say the RCCG donation na important humanitarian support for Nigerians wey dey face difficult conditions for South Africa.

The government don also praise the church and Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye for the intervention, saying say the support show how government institutions and faith based organisations fit work together to help Nigerians wey dey face crisis outside the country.

The donation dey come at a time when Nigerian government dey continue with an organized evacuation programme wey start on June 10, 2026, following fresh xenophobic and Afrophobic attacks for South Africa.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1,640 Nigerians don already return Nigeria through the ongoing evacuation exercise.

Out of this number, government don pay for the return of 1,385 Nigerians, while support from private and humanitarian sources don help bring back another 255 Nigerians.

The ministry also say 202 Nigerians still dey wait for final screening by South Africa Department of Home Affairs before dem fit continue with their evacuation.

Nigeria diplomatic missions for South Africa dey continue to identify Nigerians wey wan return home.

The Nigerian High Commission for Pretoria and Consulate General for Johannesburg dey work together with Nigerian community groups and other recognized organisations to help affected Nigerians and coordinate their return.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government say e still dey talk with South African authorities about the repeated cases of xenophobia and Afrophobia against Nigerians and other African nationals wey dey live for South Africa.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also raise the issue during the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union for Luanda, Angola, on August 30, 2026.

The RCCG money go therefore add more support to the government evacuation programme, especially for Nigerians wey don decide say returning home na the safer option because of the security situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs don welcome the church donation and call for more cooperation between government, private organisations, philanthropists, churches, faith based groups and development partners to help Nigerians wey dey face hardship outside the country.

The ministry say the money go use for coordination with RCCG leadership for South Africa to buy the 500 flight tickets and help the affected Nigerians return home.
