Former Rivers State governor and ex Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared himself the most qualified aspirant to lead the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, citing his extensive experience in governance, administration, and national politics.

Amaechi made the remarks while addressing political stakeholders and supporters amid increasing conversations around opposition realignments and preparations for the next electoral cycle. The former minister argued that his decades long involvement in public service places him in a stronger position than many prospective contenders within the ADC and the broader opposition movement.

The former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly emphasized that his political journey  which includes serving two terms as governor of Rivers State and later overseeing Nigeria’s transportation sector under former President Muhammadu Buhari has equipped him with the leadership capacity needed to address Nigeria’s economic and governance challenges.
