Indeed Nollywood actress, Shan George has had her fair share of scandals.
The bi-racial actress; born to a Nigerian mum and a British dad had been married twice and divorced.
Although a grandmother, the 49-year-old River State-born veteran actress shares her marriage fears with Obaland Magazine.
“To be very fair, one of the reasons that would make me not to consider marrying again is because I am scared. I am an only child and all my life, I have always defended myself by myself because it was just me. When people bully me, I man up and challenge them.
So, right now, little things that seem like a threat to me, I could possibly overreact. It might have to take someone who truly sees me as a sister for anything marriage to happen again. I am just scared, let me carry my cartons of trouble and maintain my lane,” she said.
Continuing, Shan George who is a proud mother of two grown sons, Delnoi and Jaga revealed how she copes with the lonely night.
Hear her, ” Honestly, with the kind of work I do, there is hardly a lonely moment. In fact, I am craving for that ‘Me time’. Me being by myself. I really enjoy enjoying my time alone. I do some reading when I am free. Aside from that, work takes much of my time, so I hardly have time for such lonely moments you mentioned.”
Does being an actor make life easier for Shan George? The newly appointed Chairman of Callywood Board recounts one of her most embarrassing experiences.
“Celebrity life has its ups and downs just like every other kind of profession. One of the major downs is the fact that people tend to assume that you are the way you are in real life the same way in movies. Some fans who have watched you play bad roles like a witch or prostitute tend to see your real-life and look at you somehow. I have been stoned by market women who sell tomatoes. They stoned me those tomatoes because as at that time there was a movie I did titled, “Rest In Peace”. I played the character of a wicked friend. I lured my girlfriend to the village, drowned her in the river, then came back to town and acted like I don’t know what happened to her.  That was because my character wanted the guy my friend was dating. So many people watched the movie.
So, the ups could be the fact that if I go somewhere, I could be given some concessions like being attended to maybe with a bigger smile than usual. Another downside is that people just think you have money because they see you in the movies living in big houses, driving big cars, so when they see you in real life they expect you to be that wealthy and to be dashing everybody money,” she recalled.
