Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has won the election in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Mr Obi, the ex-governor of Anambra State, received 281,717 votes, while Bola Tinubu, a member of the governing APC, received 90,902 votes and Atiku Abubakar, a member of the opposition PDP, received 74,199 votes.
With a margin of 190815 votes, the Labour Party candidate easily won over his closest rival.
Gwagwalada, Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Bwari, and Abuja Municipal are the six area councils that make up the Federal Capital Territory.
The Labour Party took four of the six area councils, while the APC took two.
Abuja Municipal (AMAC) was Mr Obi’s most decisive win, with over 140,000 votes separating him from his nearest rival.
The LP candidate received 170,392 votes in AMAC, which was enough to beat Bola Tinubu of the APC (who received 29,596 votes) and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP (who received 26,407 votes).
