President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has secured the highest number of votes in the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held across the 192 wards in Edo State.

The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who served as the returning officer for the exercise, said the election was peaceful across the state, with President Tinubu emerging overwhelmingly victorious in the primary conducted simultaneously across the 36 states of the federation.

According to Governor Okpebholo, President Tinubu polled 131,096 votes, while his challenger, Osifo, secured only one vote from all the wards in Edo State.

“The election was peacefully conducted across Edo State. I participated in the election myself as I voted in my ward, and the results presented are as collated from all the 192 wards in the state. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 131,096 votes,” he stated.

Collation officers from the 18 local government areas of Edo State converged at the APC Secretariat, Ikpopan GRA, Benin City, to present the results recorded in their respective councils.

In Edo South Senatorial District, Tinubu recorded massive votes across the local government areas. In Oredo Local Government Area, he polled 9,177 votes while Osifo scored zero. In Ikpoba-Okha, Tinubu secured 13,147 votes with Osifo recording zero, while in Egor, Tinubu polled 10,074 votes against Osifo’s zero votes.

In Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Tinubu secured 6,858 votes while Osifo got zero. In Ovia South-West, Tinubu recorded 10,044 votes with Osifo scoring zero, while in Ovia North-East, Tinubu secured 7,983 votes as Osifo managed one vote. In Uhunmwonde, Tinubu polled 6,159 votes while Osifo recorded zero.

In Edo North Senatorial District, Tinubu secured 4,564 votes in Etsako Central, 7,123 votes in Etsako East, 5,492 votes in Owan East, 4,139 votes in Owan West, 7,464 votes in Akoko-Edo, and 11,497 votes in Etsako West, while Osifo scored zero votes in all the councils.

In Edo Central Senatorial District, Tinubu polled 5,441 votes in Esan South-East, 4,111 votes in Esan North-East, 5,467 votes in Igueben, 6,820 votes in Esan West, and 5,536 votes in Esan Central, while Osifo recorded zero votes across the local government areas.
