Tragedy Averted: Diesel Tanker Spills on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos

In addition, LASTMA officials efficiently managed traffic flow to minimize disruptions while safeguarding all road users. Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, emphasized the importance of safety and adherence to traffic regulations during his reaction to the incident. Speaking through Taofiq, he urged tanker operators and transport stakeholders to prioritize safety protocols to prevent such occurrences in the future. Giwa stated, “This incident highlights the indispensable need for all tanker operators to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and safety protocols. The Lagos State Government remains steadfast in enforcing compliance with all traffic laws to prevent avoidable mishaps.”
