Eyewitnesses who spoke to Punch Metro said the incident caused traffic congestion on the road as the transshipment of passengers subsequently began.

“It was a serious accident. Two buses collided and many passengers on board were injured. I wondered what could have led to such a large vehicle crash,” said an eyewitness who requested anonymity.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said in a post on

that a video of the accident obtained by our correspondent showed the windshield of one of the vehicles completely damaged and smoke coming out. Stated.

Passersby gathered around the accident scene and tried to treat the injured passengers.

In an interview with Punch Metro, Federal Road Safety Corps Division Commander Babatunde Farinloyi revealed that the cause of the accident was overspeeding by the driver and that there were 45 people in the vehicle.

“Forty-five people were involved, 14 injured and there were no fatalities. The accident was caused by speeding. “The victims were rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital,” said the FRSC Commander. said.

To prevent such accidents on the roads, motorists were urged to avoid excessive speed.

Mr Farinloye said the vehicle was later towed away by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
