Utah family of eight—including five children—was found shot dead in a rural home in Enoch City.
The shooting’s motive and family relationships were not revealed.
The property’s welfare check on Wednesday revealed the bodies.
Rob Dotson, city manager, said the 8,000-person town was shocked.
“This community is hurting. They’re hurting, confused, and grieving “Mr. Dotson’s video statement.
He said the town knew the family and that police would release more information as the investigation continued.
South of Salt Lake City, Enoch City is a small agricultural town.
The Iron County School District expressed its sorrow for the five children.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox tweeted condolences for the “senseless violence.”
