The Federal Government has confirmed that four people lost their lives while 24 others sustained serious injuries following a train derailment along the Warri Itakpe Train Service (WITS) corridor near Agbor in Delta State.

The incident, which occurred on the busy rail route connecting Delta and Kogi states, has raised fresh concerns about railway safety and infrastructure management within Nigeria’s expanding transportation network.

According to government officials, emergency responders and medical teams were immediately deployed to the scene to rescue passengers and provide urgent medical assistance to the injured.
