Yusuf Buhari, son of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This decision follows extensive consultations with stakeholders, including party leaders, community elders, and influential figures in the constituency.
In a letter dated April 3, 2026, Yusuf expressed his desire to contribute to good leadership and bring development to the people of the constituency. He emphasized the need for infrastructural and human capital development in the area 
The APC stakeholders in Sandamu Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind Yusuf, citing his perceived capacity and acceptance among party members. The endorsement was made during a high-level meeting, which also reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dikko Radda as the party’s flag bearers for the presidency and governorship seats, respectively, in the 2027 general elections
