At the MTV Video Music Award on Wednesday
in Newark, New Jersey, the United States of America, Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, more commonly referred to as Rema, was named the winner of the first award for Best Afrobeats.
Rema won for his cooperative exertion with Global star Selena Gomez on the record ‘Quiet Down.’
Coordinators of the show divulged the best afrobeats classification in the 2023 release.
Rema’s “Calm Down” was nominated alongside “It’s Plenty” by Burna Boy, “Unavailable” by Davido and Musa Key, “Rush” by Ayra Starr, “People” by Libianca, “2 Sugar” by Wizkid and Ayrra Starr, and “Bandana” by Fireboy DML.
