Jaypee, a Nigerian, and Lukay, a South African, were paired together on Big Brother Titan, however, they were eliminated on Sunday.

After Sandra and Theo, they were the third and fourth housemates to be kicked out of the BBTitans house since it began on January 15.

In an interview with a news media, published on Monday, the two professionals, Jaypee, a nurse, and Lukay, a sales executive, discussed their backgrounds, challenges, and future plans.

Passions, romantic entanglements, and other such entanglements
Ipeleng’s “loving boy,” Lukay, revealed that he was waiting for her to leave the home before he would act on his feelings for her.

“I’m a sucker for natural hair, and natural beauty, not that there is anything wrong with cosmetics, but I adore a natural lady who looks amazing in her skin and hair,” he remarked, explaining why he liked her.

“She was extremely natural to me, very honest to me, and genuine to me,” he said.

Outside of the Big Brother house, he highlighted several of the other contestants, including Mmeli, Tsatsii, Marvin, and Olivia, whom he would want to catch up with.

He admitted to giving Marvin a South African name, Manda.

Jaypee, on the other hand, said that she would love to see most of her housemates after they were out, despite the fact that she did not have time to get to know too many of them.

Distinct cultural norms
They discussed the foods they tried, the customs they saw, and the styles they saw in each other’s clothing, all of which taught them something new about the other country.

Jaypee said that the South Africans gave off a relaxed vibe, so she assumed that this was their general disposition. She said that the people’s culture had similarly struck her.

“I also appreciate how much they love their culture,” she said, “when we had to perform a work that had us talking about our history and everything, they were so in tune with their culture that they were able to come up with names and chants effortlessly, that was really great to witness.”

They share a common past that binds them together, and this pride in their heritage is a major factor in the strength of their social bonds.

She went on to say that she had a wonderful time learning about South African culture and that she did not meet any particularly unpleasant people there.

“I enjoyed the food, I loved learning about their traditions,” Lukay remarked of his time spent with Nigerians, “I learnt to appreciate what we had in South Africa.” Says he.

He said that one of his life’s lessons was to never judge a book by its cover.

Disruptions to Cultures
When asked if he had experienced any culture shocks in Nigeria, Lukay replied that he had not, save for the fact that the cuisine was too spicy for him.

When discussing the cuisine, he remarked, “When we talk about food, the stuff that you guys eat is really Spicy; I don’t get how you guys eat such hot food; I don’t get it; always, it’s spicy.” Jaypee admitted to me that there are occasions when a fan and a glass of water are necessities when dining.

A fan of traditional Nigerian menswear, he gushed, “I admired the attires that the lads were wearing; they told me they got it customised and all that, so I loved it and when I come to Nigeria that the first thing I want to acquire is a fitted African suit.”

Jaypee was taken aback to learn that the South Africans was not harmful to bugs and insects.

She said, “Why don’t these folks destroy flying insects, bees, and spiders?”

If you’re not working on your hands and knees in Nigeria, you’re dead. So why can’t I kill flying insects? A couple of the spiders in our bathroom were given names; Kevin and Kelvin. She continued.

She went on to say that the South Africans’ fondness for cow products was the second shock of her trip. “Also, kids like all dairy products: milk, cheese, butter…” They microwave their noodles, add cheese to their oatmeal, grate cheese over everything, and use butter in everything.

They both felt they had a much better understanding of the other’s nation after their visit, and they made a point to emphasise the many questions they had about the others that were finally answered.

Predictions
While the other roommates were gone, the favourites were named.

Jaypee has stated that despite her support for Ebubu, she believes Kanaga Jnr will win.

“With the way, that boy is going with his approach,” she stated, “Knaaga Jnr would win.” However, she added, “I want Ebubu to win because that person is a hustler.”

Ipeleng was Lukay’s victor of choice.

There Will Be Titans After BBT
Lukay said he hopes to work in radio and other forms of media after BBTitans, revealing his long-term career goals.

Jaypee also disclosed that she had considered a career in modelling and intended to leverage her newfound celebrity to launch a successful company.

She has remarked that it will be difficult for her to adjust to celebrity life because she can no longer use public transportation to get around Lagos like a normal person.
