On Monday, a single accident involving a Foton bus in the Aiyetoro area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway resulted in four fatalities and eleven injuries of varying severity.
The representative of the Ogun Traffic Consistence and Implementation Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, unveiled this to columnists in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Monday.
According to Akinbiyi, the accident happened around 9.59 a.m. and involved 15 people, three men and 12 women. He said 11 women were hurt and three men and one woman died.
According to Akinbiyi, one of the bus’s tires burst while it was moving, causing the unfortunate commercial bus to somersault into a ditch.
“The bus marked AGL 989 YA was coming from Ibadan inbound Lagos when it had a tyre burst on the driver’s side at the Ayetoro area on the expressway, which led the bus to somersault into a ditch,” he stated. “According to an eyewitness account, the bus was coming from Ibadan inbound Lagos.”
Akinbiyi noticed that the remaining parts of the departed were saved at a mortuary in Sagamu while the harmed casualties were taken to a medical clinic in Mowe.
However, he urged motorists to adhere to straightforward traffic rules and regulations, drive at reasonable speeds, and recycle tires.
