Maverick entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has celebrated former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi on his 65th birthday.
In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, Charly Boy sent heartfelt prayers and words of encouragement to Obi, who is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party, NDC.
“As you add another year, may your strength increase. May your courage multiply. And may your love for this country survive all the attacks, insults, and distractions. For they are simply scavengers,” he wrote.
The ‘Area Fada’ said Nigeria still needs leaders who are not afraid to speak truth to power, describing Obi as a beacon of hope for younger Nigerians.
“In a country where many people have stopped expecting anything from their leaders, you somehow make millions believe that a better Nigeria is still possible. Well done. That is no small thing,” Charly Boy added.
Charly Boy also used the occasion to announce the forthcoming release of his memoir titled _“999”_. The book, which chronicles his life journey, will feature a foreword by former President Olusegun Obasanjo
According to him, the public presentation of the memoir is scheduled for July 31 in Lagos. As part of efforts to promote the book globally, digital billboards at Times Square in New York recently displayed the memoir
