A member of the Accord party in Osun State, Oyeyemi Olalekan, has denied allegations linking him to the murder of Oyebamiji Kazeem, a Personal Assistant to a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
In a statement, Oyeyemi described the allegations as “dirty politics” meant to smear his personality, insisting he was not in Osogbo when the incident occurred. He claimed to have left Osun State for personal and business engagements on January 20, 2026, and had no connection to the crime.
Oyeyemi emphasized that he has no gang or “boys” perpetrating crime in the state, and his only associations are with football teammates and legitimate acquaintances. He accused certain individuals of spreading falsehood for political reasons, warning them to desist from the “calculated smear campaign”.
The Accord party member reserved the right to take legal action against anyone found culpable, urging APC media operatives and other political actors to exercise restraint and professionalism in their communications.
The allegations against Oyeyemi stem from the killing of Kazeem Oyewale, a NURTW chieftain’s aide, on Sunday. The police are yet to comment on the incident or Oyeyemi’s involvement.
