Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for the presidential election held on February 25, has made an appearance at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which has commenced its proceedings today.

Bola Tinubu, who ran as the candidate for the All Progressives Congress, emerged victorious in the election by defeating Obi and other candidates from opposing parties.
The February 25 presidential election has been challenged by five political parties and their respective candidates on the basis of non-compliance with both the electoral laws and the guidelines set forth by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to a report by newsmen, the individuals who will preside over the multiple petitions that may arise are the Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Haruna Tsammani, Justice Stephen Adah of the Court of Appeal Asaba division, Justice Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf of the Court of Appeal also of Asaba Division, Justice Boloukuoromo Ugoh of Kano division, and Justice Abba Mohammed of Ibadan Court of Appeal.
The commencement of pre-hearing activities at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has resulted in heightened security measures.
One month following the altercation with his supporters, Obi pays a visit to Soyinka.
Just prior to the convening of the five-member panel of judges led by the presiding judge of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPC), Justice Haruna Tsammani provided a guarantee that the principles of fairness and impartiality would be upheld.

Justice Tsammani expressed a commitment to impartially examine the matter and administer justice to those who are deserving of it.

The speaker emphasized that the tribunal would prioritize the merits of each case over procedural details, ensuring that all parties involved would be content with the just outcome.
