Senator Ned Nwoko (APC‑Delta North) has warned that he will take legal action against what he describes as a “renewed pattern of online harassment, cyber‑stalking and coordinated defamatory videos and publications” targeting him.
The warning comes in a statement issued by the communication team of his office in Abuja on Thursday. The statement says the senator’s attention has been drawn to a series of online attacks that appear designed to create a false narrative of persecution for ulterior motives.
According to the statement, Nwoko is “fully engaged in his legislative, developmental and business responsibilities and maintains no interest whatsoever in online distractions or fabricated drama.” It adds that any grave allegations must be addressed through legal channels rather than misinformation or emotional manipulation.
The senator has instructed his lawyer to file petitions with the Inspector General of Police, the Director‑General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime Unit) to investigate and prosecute those behind the alleged cyber‑harassment and criminal defamation. The statement says digital footprints will be traced and lawful action pursued.
In the statement, Nwoko also appealed to the United States and United Kingdom governments, urging them to reject attempts to stage “artificial drama” around his family for the purpose of gaining undue advantage. He called on authorities to rely on verified facts and legal processes rather than sensationalised narratives.
The senator’s office urged Nigerians to disregard the false narratives being circulated and to allow due process to take its course, stressing that Nwoko remains focused on his work and committed to upholding dignity, responsibility and due process.
