Tinubu writes to Reps and asks for service chief confirmation on July 6, 2023.

The President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has formally sent a letter to the Place of Delegates mentioning the affirmation of the recently selected Help Bosses.

During Thursday’s plenary, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read a letter that contained the request to the House.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker and read at Entire, the President requested the legislators to consider fast affirmation from the Help Bosses and the Head of Protection Staff as per surviving regulations.

Maj. and Major are the confirmed service chiefs. The Chief of Defense Staff, General C.G. Musa; Maj. The Chief of Army Staff, T. A. Lagbaja; Back Naval commander E. An Ogalla Head of Maritime Staff and AVM H.B Abubakar, Head of Air Staff.

In the letter, the president stated that the request was in accordance with the Armed Forces Act’s Section 18(1). The Nigerian Federation’s 2004 Cap A20 Laws

reports that the President appointed service chiefs while the National Assembly was on break.
“In accordance with the provisions of Section 18(1) of the Armed Forces Act,” the letter read in part. CAP A20 Laws of the League of Nigeria,2004, I’m satisfied to introduce, for affirmation by the Senate, the four candidates recorded beneath as Head of Protection Staff and Administration Bosses for the Military of the Government Republic of Nigeria.

“The House of Representatives is invited to take note of the current security situation in our nation, which necessitates coordinated efforts on the part of both the legislature and the executive to ensure a well-protected nation,” the statement reads.

The following was added: Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Head of Guard Staff; Maj. The Chief of Army Staff, T. A. Lagbaja; AVM H.B. Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff.

“This provided the basis for the review of our defense architecture and the appointment of new leaders to collaborate with one another to achieve the military’s desired level of performance.

“Please accept, R.t. Hon., despite the fact that I hope that the House of Representatives will expeditiously consider and confirm the request, Speaker, please have faith in my sincere consideration.Tinubu writes to Reps and asks for service chief confirmation on July 6, 2023.
