A tragic incident has occurred in Imande-Dem community, Uvir Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, where four persons, including an elderly man and his two sons, were killed in a suspected witchcraft-related attack. The incident, which happened in the early hours of Tuesday, has thrown the community into tension, with residents demanding justice for the victims.
According to a community source, the elderly man had been accused by some kinsmen of being responsible for the recent death of a young man in the area. The accusation allegedly triggered the deadly attack, with the victims being targeted in their homes.
Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, David Manyi, has ordered a probe into the incident, assuring that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. “We will not tolerate any form of violence in our community,” he said.
