the Navy seeking speedy prosecution of oil thieves. The Chief of Naval Staff is concerned about the delay in prosecuting suspected crude oil thieves and pipeline vandals. He’s urging the National Assembly to create a legal framework to enhance collaboration between government security agencies and private firms. This move comes after the Nigerian Army’s efforts to combat illegal refineries and oil theft in the Niger Delta region.
The House of Representatives Special Committee on Crude Oil Theft is also working towards revamping the oil and gas sector. The focus is on determining the causes of oil theft and recommending solutions. It’s crucial to address these issues to safeguard Nigeria’s resources and economy.
