The Edo state government has distanced itself from statements being issued by Mr. John Mayaki, a former Chief Press Secretary to the immediate-past Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.
A statement on Tuesday by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary said the unauthorized statements by Mayaki do not reflect the official position of the governor’s office on any matter and should be disregarded.
The statement also said Mr. Mayaki, as a citizen of Nigeria, has the right to express his views on any matter. However, his personal views should not be attributed to Governor Okpebholo.
It said the Governor’s official spokespersons have been duly appointed and announced by Senator Monday Okpebholo.
They can be reached through their verified contact information.
The CPS advises the public to verify any information attributed to the Governor through official channels only.
