14 people are said to have been killed and millions of naira worth of property destroyed as a result of a communal conflict in the Oju Local Government Area of Benue State. According to what City Round learned, youths from the Ibilla and Oju communities got into a bloody land dispute on Sunday. In an effort to contain the outbreak of violence in the area, the state government imposed a curfew on residents on Monday following the altercation. On the other hand, on Tuesday, there were reports of retaliation, resulting in additional deaths. During a phone interview with our correspondent, the youth leader of the Igede Youth Council, Andyson Egbodo, revealed that calm had returned. He stated, "Some people from both sides have died, and property has also been destroyed." According to the information I have access to, approximately 14 people have died; 12 from the opposing community and two from one community. “Governor Hyacinth Alia imposed a curfew on the two communities on Monday, extending from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. However, the government discovered that the measure was ineffective, so on Wednesday, the curfew was extended to 24 hours
